So the first call I got this morning was from a friend calling to confirm “…if it was true”. He woke and trying to catch up on events that transpire while he slept and got the bombshell of a news that Dr. Myles Munroe was dead. He had died (along with his wife and 7 other persons) when a flight he was on crashed while attempting to land at Grand Bahamas International Airport. My friend shell-shocked by the news called me.
A quick search online, revealed that the news was true. Dr. Myles Munroe is dead. The man that distilled and expounded the critical message of “Purpose” in this time and age to the body of Christ and indeed the world had gone. Seemingly cut short in his prime.
I was on my way to a YouTube creator event and was struck in rush-hour traffic for almost 2 hours.. The time spent driving and listening to 1Kings stream over via the awesome “Bible” app gave me ample time to reflect. Dr. Myles Munroe died doing what he loved. He was on his way to his annual Global Leadership Forum. Movers and shakers of the world were gathering at his call to impact and be impacted. He died having the pleasure of living a purpose-filled life. He can be said to have had a purpose fulfilled: proclaim Christ and impact many.
The question of death is not a question of “if” but “when”. I can’t but ask myself, “what will happen when I die”? Will I be missed? Who will lament my passing? What impact will I leave behind? Will I have fulfilled my purpose?
I invite you to ask yourself the same questions and more: Do you know your purpose? Are you fulfilling your purpose and maximizing your potentials?
Have a great week ahead!
